3 Fantastic Photo Spots in Northern Norway

1. TUNGENESET (SENJA)

The Okshornan rock formation rises from the sea along the rugged northwest coast of Senja. These nearly 600-meter-high "Devil’s Teeth" can be captured particularly impressively from the beach at Tungeneset. Even the short walk from the parking lot to the beach, which leads over a weathered wooden walkway, makes for a great photo opportunity!

2. Hamnoy (Lofoten)

The iconic red fishing cabins, so typical of Norway, can be photographed beautifully in Hamnøy. From the bridge leading to Toppøya, you get a stunning composition with the cabins in the foreground and the mountain backdrop behind them. However, it’s also worth exploring the other small islands along the main road! You'll find plenty of interesting angles and perspectives everywhere.

3. Uttakleiv (Lofoten)

Uttakleiv is a beach on the Lofoten Islands that, with its fine sand and crystal-clear turquoise water, almost looks tropical. The many large, smooth, water-worn stones in front of the mountain panorama create the perfect setting for long-exposure photography. As is often the case in Norway, it’s worth staying longer to capture different lighting and weather conditions.

Bonus Tip: Haukland (Lofoten)

Of course, the birthplace of Haukland cannot be left out of this list! 😉

Just 10 minutes from Uttakleiv Beach lies Haukland Beach. On clear nights, this is a fantastic spot to photograph the Northern Lights. But even during the day, the fine sandy beach and crystal-clear water offer plenty of great photo opportunities.
